The Baby Einstein™ Around We Grow™ 4-in-1 provides a mix of physical and sensory experiences that promote movement and cognitive skills. Its four distinct ways to play—Walk-Around Discovery Center, Discovery Table, Art Table, and Removable Floor Toys—will captivate your little one from 6 months up. From sitting to standing to walking, there’s a mode for every stage. The innovative Walk-Around Discovery Center brings the benefits of a traditional baby walker and stationary entertainer together in one solution. The cushioned seat travels 360° around the activity table, supporting baby’s first steps and empowering her to move and explore at her own pace (without wandering off). Fifteen nature-themed toys put sensory experiences at baby’s fingertips and encourage the development of motor skills. Discover new sounds and languages with the full-octave piano that introduces music, animals and colors in English, Spanish, and French. The removable toy stations are great for floor play and keeping multiple kids engaged at once. Little ones will love drawing, painting, building, and creating at the art table. Assembly is quick and easy, and so is cleanup.
The age of Discovery. . .
After many years of success of the original Bright Starts version of the Around We Go, we decided to update it and make a Baby Einstein version instead. As a result, we knew we wanted to modernize and simplify the overall frame to match the new style guide of the latest BE products. In addition, I was tasked with coming up with innovative play pattern themes that not only would match back to this new styling, but also be recognized by our consumers as a truly Baby Einstein experience.

After sketching up the new concepts, we presented them all to our potential customers via a volunteer research questionnaire. Unsurprisingly, all of the concepts were highly regarded by the parents, but ultimately the "Backyard Discovery" concept was the one that rose to the top. As a result, we decided to continue with that version.

Evolution of design and features
Cool and Connected. . .
The original design of the Discovery Center actually had a Bluetooth connected speaker in the shape of Cal the caterpillar popping out of a tree stump in the center of the tabletop. This speaker would connect to the internet to allow for new and unique content to be continuously added, so each play experience would be unique. Cal would tell stories and facts about whatever theme the product was and introduce baby to games, jokes, and music content. In addition, this speaker would be able to fit onto future entertainers to unlock new content for them as well. Finally, Cal would also serve as a bedtime soother and nightlight for an added bonus. Even though this was a very cool concept, it was ultimately decided to purse a much cheaper alternative for the center toy in order to keep our costs and development time to a reasonable level.
